I’ve been playing around with creating custom sounds for GE GEVO units for use with the LocoFi product however it’s proving to be quite difficult. To my ear getting the idle sound to translate to the GE prototypical big power chug that everyone loves doesn’t translate well. I’m undertaking this for the challenge of it only because I don’t even have any of the GE locos. I was thinking of giving up on this endeavor but if there is a want/need out there for these sounds I’ll keep at it.

That would be awesome! Your contributions are highly appreciated!
So after a lot of back to the drawing board moments here is my GE GEVO sound package. Its not perfect, but not to shabby. I really spent a lot of time trying get that GE "chug" sound to come through and still try to get a solid startup with a compressor whoop in there and air dryer effects built in to the idle. I think the horn sounds awesome and the shutdown is solid and better than my EMD567 edit. One of the hardest things is editing with quality headphones on then listening to the files on the loco. Stuff just don’t sound the same. Lots of work and tuning..
Anyway, give it a listen and let me know what ya think.
Thank you as always for your contributions. They indeed sound great! It can be a lot of hardwork to get them right but so is the satisfaction of getting them right (or unsatisfaction of always wanting them to improve). It’s true that what sounds on a computer isn’t necessarily what comes out an 8ohm speaker. You seem to have gotten the hang of it now. 😀
