I am very curious in this as I have several of the ole blue box engines. I have a few engines from the 60’s and 70’s and these can pull high amps, depending on track grade and load being pulled. I also tend to run long trains and usually find that the DCC system has issues when I run more than one train with two powered engines. It pulls too many amps and causes the system to shutdown. This has been causing me to be very reluctant to jump full in on DCC. So I have some DC, some DCC, and even early wifi based decoder equipped engines. I would like to find one solution. DCC isn’t working for me, the early wfi decoders are sensitive to amps pulled by the older engines, and DC is DC. Can these LocoFi decoders handle engines that can pull as much as 1.5 amps?
