I’ve just posted a how-to on my new “journal” at the Model Railroad Hobbyist website:

https://forum.mrhmag.com/post/charleys-ho-1939-socal-journal-12472209?pid=1333686052

I had to cut away some of the weights to make space for the board but it all went together reasonably well. I wouldn’t recommend this as a first project for a newby but if you have the skills it is possible to convert a DC-only loco with no extra space to make room for the electronics.

See a video of it in operation at: https://youtu.be/_IUN-pSsGSw

My next step will be to add couplers, details and a little weathering to fit my 1939 modeling year.

Loved the use of clay to help calculate space. Very nice video.

Awesome!

That is one of the complex installs we have seen. Very professional and nicely done.

Loved it. Thank you for sharing.
