I have posted a total of 19 videos, on YouTube, about the creation of my first HO Train Layout in a Long, Long Time. It is, of course, regarding Dead Rail/Battery on Board and the use of LocoFi for using Dead Rail, Battery on Board, locomotives.

Part 19 is a three year review of my foray into HO scale model railroading. It notes my progress, as well as the products I am actually using at this time. The LocoFi system is featured in several parts of this video.

My Part 19 video:

I have documented the build of my Dead Rail layout and other details, thus far, on my Website, “A Journey Into HO Scale Model Railroading in the 21st Century”. The Website had new information added in December of 2024.

http://www.theampeer.org/HO

I have created a playlist for this layout build and using Dead Rail.  The playlist is a series of 19 videos, on YouTube, at this time.

As a reminder, I’ve also created a playlist for my “Making and Using a Portable Dead Rail Demonstration HO Layout Parts 1 – 10

My Channel, on YouTube, is noted as Electric Flyers Only of southeastern Michigan, because it was originally started for my electric motor, battery powered, RC flying videos.

Enjoy and learn,

Ken

We are glad to see that you are having fun! Thank you for continuing to share your passion. We hope it helps others.

Also, way to go with Inkscape!

@Admin

Thanks so much for your comments. They really are very much appreciated.

Once I got your great product working for me by controlling my Dead Rail locomotives, buildings became my “new” challenge. Thanks to Michael Scott’s YouTube Channel named Chandwell (chandwell model railway), I was able to learn how to design paper and cardstock structures in Inkscape. I like those types of structures a lot. It’s really a lot of fun to see something you designed yourself take physical shape. That’s why I loved creating/designing and flying my RC model planes for over 65 years.

@Ken Myers

Although I have not yet built any paper model structures for model railroad and certainly never designed one, I have built some pre-designed e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExsyQc0hinY. I am now interested in designing as well and will take a look at the suggested channel. Thank you.

@Peeyush Garg

I would recommend that you join this Facebook group and have your “mind blown” with what paper and card models can look like when created by someone who knows what they are doing.

Keep promoting your great product, and best wishes to you, Ken

Great! Thanks for the resource. I just joined. BTW, here’s the only railroad one I did a long time ago. It’s O scale. It rolls but without a motor. ? Unfortunately, the catenary wire broke during our last move.
