I have now posted a total of 6 videos about the creation of my first HO layout in a long, long time. It is, of course, a Dead Rail/Battery on Board layout.
The most recent video, My First HO Layout in a Long, Long Time. Part 6, was post on March 5, 2023.
Part 6 includes the latest layout updates and an actual shunting operation video where you can see LocoFi™, in action, shunting rolling stock around between various spurs on my layout.
I have documented the build, thus far, on my Website, “A Journey Into HO Scale Model Railroading in the 21st Century”.
The section of my Website, titled, “My First HO Train Layout in a Long, Long Time; the process”, covers, in detail, the build of my benchwork, track plan and running the first trains on the layout, as well as continual updates, as they happen.

I have created a play list for the layout series of 6 videos on YouTube, at this time.
As a reminder, I’ve also created a playlist for my “Making and Using a Portable Dead Rail Demonstration HO Layout Parts 1 – 10
My Channel, on YouTube, is noted as Electric Flyers Only of southeastern Michigan, because it was originally started for my electric motor, battery powered, RC flying videos.
Enjoy and let me know what you think,

Awesome! That was so satisfying to watch! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so very much!
After I put the video together and uploaded it, Part 6, I realized that I did not demonstrate the horn and bell, which work great! Sorry about that, but I’m so used to not using them when “testing” various aspects of the layout, I just forgot, as the bell would be ringing in almost constant use with a ton of horn blasts, even in that short video and the bell kind of gets on my nerves a bit. I’m not sure why that is. Old age maybe. 🙄
No. That was a wonderful video. Very engaging. We didn’t realize either that no bell or horn was blown. And yes, the bell does tend to be a little annoying. I guess that is the whole point. In real life, you want to alert the nearby traffic. 🙂
